Graduation – Proms

GRADUATION/PROMS…

Adds for Grads

Sponsorable. Station dedicates a web page where grads can list their availability for summer work if they’ve graduated from high school and will be going to college of technical school in the fall. Or, if they’ve graduated and are not planning further education, they can post an add looking for fulltime work. All looking for work postings are free. Station revenue comes from page sponsor(s). Good tag line for sponsors: “believing in our future leaders” or similar. (Graduation 2017)

Pads for Grads

Sponsorable. Three ways to go: 1 – sell a remote or schedule to an apartment complex or realtor; 2 – keep it digital only by setting up a webpage where apartments and realtors can advertise – just like those real estate books you can pick up for free at the supermarket except clients can change the featured offerings with 24 hour notice; 3 – Sell a schedule or remote to an inexpensive or used furniture store targeting those who are moving out on their own for the first time. Also works well for a store like Goodwill. (Graduation 2017)

How Not To Be Shy

Invite a psychologist/speaker specializing in self esteem to share ideas on how to overcome shyness about asking for a date to the prom – and expand that to “how to ask for anything.” Do this for both men and women. (Prom, Graduation 2017)

(Graduation 2016)

Formal Uh-Tires

For prom season, partner with a formal wear store and limo service to draw for free tuxedos and limousine rides to area proms from in-store registrations. Other tie-ins could include florists, restaurants, dress shops/department stores. Or limit to a merchant selling formal attire and a dealer that will sell you “a tire.” (Prom, Graduation 2016)

Prom Central

Register listeners (or listeners’ kids) for complete prom packages: Limo, tuxedo, dress, shoes, jewelry, flowers, dinner, etc. Multiple sponsor possibilities. (Prom, Graduation)

Show Off Your Diploma

Sell to a framing store or craft store that sells frames; all graduates framing diploma receive a discount and one winner receives free, deluxe custom-framing for their current diploma and one more they may have received or will receive. (Graduation 2016)

Classmate Give-Backs

Graduating friends get together to form different ways to give back to community/world – from organizing local clean-up to mentoring to sponsoring child/family in another part of the world. Station acts as mouthpiece for any classmates who band together and offers online presence for others wanting to make a contribution in time or money. “Community-minded” businesses would make good sponsors. (Graduation 2016)

Words of Wisdom

Listeners post something meaningful from their school days.  Station combines and creates PDF for downloading. (Graduation 2016)

BIG Day, BIG Photo

Invite listeners to post graduation pictures of friends/family. Random photos are selected to receive giant “keepsake” prints that are “blueprint” photos (also called draft and engineering photos). These very large blow-ups run less than $10 each at many quick print stores who can also be the sponsor. Or sell the idea to a caterer who provides one of these along with the food. Build the photo cost into the package if you like. (Graduation 2015)

Photo-Op Booth

Register listeners to win an hour’s worth of “photo booth” time at a graduation party. Photo booths are increasingly easy to rent and easily sponsorable. Alternatively, give away everything for a DIY photo booth (see an example here). (Graduation 2015)

A Couple of More All-Nighters

Give away Google Chromecast dongles, subscriptions to Hulu, Netflix, etc., so that there will always be something to watch all night. Sell the concept to a business that is open all night or at least late into the evening. Or sell it to a big box store and award a TV as well. Prizes are also inexpensive enough that you can write a check to cover the cost.  (Graduation 2015)

College or Workforce Survival Kit

Whether it’s off to college or to work, here are some ‘necessities’ you can bundle together and sell to a title sponsor: iTunes download card, noise cancelling headphones/ear buds, and a tablet. (Graduation 2014)

Senior Class Gift

Lots of senior classes will give a gift to their school. Consider selling a campaign to a business that would be a part of the gift-giving. For example, a landscaping company that puts in a sitting area. (Graduation 2014)

Graduation Cere-“Money”

Sell to businesses that cater to grads (clothes for work or college for example). Students show diploma for discounts. (Graduation 2014)

Seeking Employment

Sell a temp-employment agency or other on sponsoring a “I’m looking for work” page on your website. For the month of June, allow grads (and anyone who listeners) to post free links to their LinkedIn or other personal page along with a brief description of their skills and the type of work they’re looking for. Test each first of course and a check with legal would be a good idea too. You could also do a different spin on this with a mentoring page. (Graduation 2014)
